Thalia Ariadna (born August 26, 1971 in Mexico City) is an entertainer of Arab and Spanish descent. She is known simply as Thalía and is a singer, actress, and Latin Grammy-award winner. She is one of Mexico’s most famous telenovela actresses and has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.
Thalia Ariadna Sodi y Miranda was born in Mexico City, DF ( Destrito Federal), Mexico in August 26, 1971. She is the daughter of Ernesto Sodi y Pallares; a scientist, doctor of pathology, criminologist and writer, and Yolanda Miranda y Mange, a painter and was Thalia’s manager from 1980 to 1999. She has four sisters, Laura a theater, TV and movie actress, and singer, Gabriela, an anthropologist, Federica, a historian, and Ernestina, a doctor of Literature and the Arts and a writer, she who was also named Miss Mexico in 1979 but didn’t win the crown to represent Mexico in the Miss Universe Pageant. Thalia is of Spanish ancestry. Her niece Camilla Sodi is also an actress and now is now pregnant with her child with boyfriend popular Mexican actor Diego Luna.
