Leah Remini (born June 15, 1970) is an American actress best known for her role as Carrie Heffernan on the CBS sitcom The King of Queens.

Leah Remini was born in Bensonhurst (Brooklyn), New York, to George Remini (an Italian-American) owner of an asbestos company. Her mother Vicki Marshall, a former high school principal and current LA restaurant owner, is Jewish and originally from Austria.

Remini has an older sister, Nicole Remini(born 1969) who was her assistant on The King of Queens. She also has four half-sisters: Christina (born 1969[1]), Elizabeth (born 1976), Stephanie (born 1977), and Shannon (born 1984). Shannon has acted on Leah’s show as a character named Desiree.

Leah Remini has a nearly four-year old daughter who is still sucking on the bottle, day and night, and isn’t potty-trained to boot.

The New York Daily News did a feature piece on Remini and her defiant “don’t judge me” stance she is presenting with regards to rearing her kid.

Remini is a guest on TV show, ”Rachael Ray,” and their cameras caught the very plump 3-1/2+ year-old daughter sucking down her bottle. “Day, night, in the bedroom and in the living room,”  the episode is meant to try to help Leah get a clue.

“I have no problem being judged,” Remini told the Daily News. “What I do mind is imperfect people acting indignant about a situation in which they, too, have maybe failed.  She also tells Rachael that she is tired of changing diapers day and night.

“They might have their kid off the bottle, but that kid still may be walking around with a pacifier in their mouth, which according to pediatricians is equally as bad.”

Remini’s game for this kind of intrusive reality TV treatment, according to the Daily News, she appeared on ”two episodes of the VH1 series ‘Inside Out,’ once in 2003 to document her marriage to (husband) Pagan and a second time in 2004 to document the birth of her daughter, Sofia Bella.”

Daryl Hannah was born in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Susan Wexler, a producer, and Don Hannah, a tugboat and barge company owner. Her parents divorced shortly after her birth and her mother remarried Jerrold Wexler, a businessman and brother of Haskell Wexler, a noted cinematographer.
