By Karen Mulder’s second year on the runway, she was modeling for Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent, Lanvin, Versace, and Giorgio Armani. She appeared on the cover of Vogue and before long, landed a contract for Guess in 1991 when she was 21 years old. During the following three years, Karen climbed the steps to supermodel status, learning along the way. The first important steps in her career were a British Vogue cover shot by Tyen and a Nivea advertising campaign.

Campaigns Karen Mulder appeared in included Calvin Klein, Claude Montana, Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint-Laurent’s Rive Gauche fragrance, as well as Guerlain, Chloé, Revlon, Jacques Fath, Gianfranco Ferrè, Gianni Versace, Chanel and Herve Leger. Karen has worked with some of the greatest fashion photographers, including Javier Vallhonrat, Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, Bruce Weber, Helmut Newton, Max Vadukul, Gilles Bensimon, Fabrizio Ferri, Steven Meisel, Irving Penn, Robert Erdmann, and Arthur Elgort.

One of the first issues of Top Model magazine was entirely devoted to Mulder along with an entire issue of Italian Vogue. Her two appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 1997 and 1998 and her poses for the Victoria’s Secret catalogue made Mulder a household name.

Called “The Blonde With Class” by Vogue editors, she went on to share catwalks with top models such as Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, and Naomi Campbell. Together with a few other models, including her best friend Carla Bruni, these women were the fashion industry’s elite. At one point in her career she was earning up to £10,000 a day. Mulder retired from modeling in 2000.

For those who haven’t been keeping up with sub-teen culture, cute-as-a-button Jodie Foster was nominated for an Academy Award for her work in the title role of “Little Miss Sunshine,” and now, at age 12, is starring in the well-received new movie “Kit Kittredge: An American  Girl.”  The next few years could be difficult for her, though.  Child actors often have a tough time making the transition to adulthood. For every Jodie Foster, there is a Tatum O’Neal.

The Jodie Foster is the latest derivative of the Mini Cooper, which charmed enthusiasts with its retro styling and inspired performance when it was introduced in 2002. Besides becoming a huge success for its owner BMW, Mini has created a whole new segment for the U.S. market: the premium small car. More than 42,000 Minis were sold last year, more than Porsche, Saab or Jaguar.

It’s safe to say that Jodie Foster isn’t enjoying her new-found status as a paparazzi magnet.

The actress - who left long-time partner Cydney Bernard for another woman last month - hit out at shutterbugs after they attempted to photograph her sharing a car with a mystery female.

Foster threw her blue and white handbag in the face of a photographer as she tried to get into the car.

Last July, MTV News sat down with former Marvel honcho Avi Arad and asked him straight out about a rumored “Iron Man” cameo from two-time Oscar winning actress Hillary Swank, a small role which director Jon Favreau seemed to confirm in an early production blog only weeks before.

“How do you know [about that]?” a stunned Arad replied at the time, admitting that Swank did appear and that it was a “cameo.”
According to a source on the scene, the couple lovingly kissed and canoodled as they shopped in Barney’s NY, then walking to their nearby car.

As for her reason for being on the west coast, Miss Swank mentioned that she’s currently staying in Beverly Hills as she prepares for a new role.

Immediately, fans began to speculate on her character. Was Hillary Swank a pre-transformation She-Hulk? The Black Widow? S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Sharon Carter?

Fooled you, Hillary Swank laughed yesterday during the green carpet for “The Incredible Hulk,” giddily admitting to purposeful subterfuge to throw the media off the scent of the “real” cameos in the film.

The single mom told PEOPLE Liv Tyler is “excited” about her vacation. “It’s my birthday tomorrow,” she said Monday night, at a Paris bash called The Blue Soiree at the Hotel Crillon for Lanvin and Acne, “and I’m going to spend it with my sister and we’re going to a Givenchy show. I’m excited to have a little fun here with my sister.”

Sporting a Lanvin black strapless cocktail dress, Liv Tyler also had praise for designer Alber Elbaz. “I love Alber Elbaz,” she said after greeting him with hugs and kisses. “He’s such a kind man. I love Lanvin – he made [the dress] for me.”

Starting a career as a model at the age of fifteen, Tyler appeared on the covers of magazines and starred in commercials.However, she became bored with her modeling career less than a year after it started, and moved into acting. She never took acting lessons. Tyler first became known to television audiences when she starred alongside Alicia Silverstone in the music video for Aerosmith’s song “Crazy” in 1993. Between the period of 1993 and 1996, she starred in seven films.

Tyler made her film debut in Silent Fall in 1994. Following the release of the film, she starred in Heavy in 1995; the filming of which was delayed until she became available. By the age of nineteen, she had already starred in several successful films, including her breakthrough role in 1996’s Stealing Beauty directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, the cult classic Empire Records, That Thing You Do! which was written and directed by Tom Hanks, and Inventing the Abbotts in 1997.

Gina Gershon, speaking publicly for the first time about a Vanity Fair magazine article that implied she had an affair with former U.S. President Bill Clinton, has called the tale a wild fabrication.

“It was my day off and all of a sudden I read this thing. You know, it is such a crazy, outrageous lie,” Gerson said Monday on U.S. TV chat show “Live with Regis and Kelly.”

“I’ve met him three times, at events, at the White House or different places,” said Gershon, who has appeared in movies such as “Bound” and on TV hits such as “Ugly Betty.”

Last week, actress Gina Gershon’s lawyers demanded that Vanity Fair retract a story by Todd Purdum that Gershon’s counsel claimed insinuates that she and former President Bill Clinton were seeing each other while his wife was campaigning to become the Democratic Party’s nominee for president.
