On December 31, 2009, Carey embarked her seventh concert tour, Angels Advocate Tour, in the United States and Canada. Following the announcement of the “Angels Advocate Tour”, it was announced that Carey will release a remix album titled Angels Advocate, containing remixes for the songs of Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel and a few new tracks. The purpose of the album was about ensuring that Memoirs appealed to more people by putting guests on 90% of the songs. In January 2010, “Up Out My Face” featuring Nicki Minaj and “Angels Cry” featuring Ne-Yo served as the lead singles from the album. The album was slated for a March 30, 2010 release in the United States. Later, due to the under-performance of the both singles on the charts, Carey’s manager Chris Lighty announced that the album’s release was canceled.
In February 2010, The song, “100%”, which was originally written and recorded for the film, Precious, was used as one of the theme songs for the 2010 Winter Olympics, with all money proceeds going to Team USA.
