married Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave in August 2001, with whom she had a daughter, Honey, in 2002. They separated in the summer of 2004, and Porter has spoken publicly about her ensuing battles with stress, drugs and post-natal depression. In 2005 her conditions triggered alopecia areata, causing her to lose much of her hair. She refused to wear a hat or wig, deciding instead to maintain a public profile and raise awareness of the condition. On an appearance on the Richard & Judy show February 15, 2006 she showed that her hair, eyebrows and eyelashes were drawn on with marker pen. Recently there were rumours that her hair loss had been deemed permanent, these are however untrue. She herself refuted these rumours on 12 April 2006 saying “It is possible that I’m going to get my hair back.”

Celebrities in exhibition to highlight thousands of children who are waiting to be adopted
, Bruce Oldfield, Cherie Blair, Claudia Winkleman are among those whose work will appear in an exhibition for children’s charity Barnardo’s.

The exhibition, called Home Time, highlights the thousands of children waiting to be adopted.

The charity has joined forces with photographer Cambridge Jones, who was adopted at the age of two.

He said: “This is just a small sample of the children who desperately need permanent families. I wanted to capture this issue in a way to appeal to people who may not have considered adoption to seriously do so.”

The exhibition runs from Friday, April 25 until May 3 at the Getty Images Gallery in central London.
