If you’ve heard of the movie Elegy at all, it’s probably only in conjunction with the word “nudity”. Videos of Penelope Cruz’s skin have been floating around the web for months now, with varying degrees of interest from skeevy dudes. Now we have the first poster for Elegy, and it does not in fact, contain nudity, or for that matter even all that much of Penelope Cruz. The movie is about a cultural critic who undergoes a sexual awakening with one of his students. Penelope Cruz does the awakening and Ben Kingsley is the awakened.

Based on the Philip Roth novella, The Dying Animal, Elegy is one of those pseudo-intellectual romps in which the classical music backdrop, fine wines and high minded existential gab as cunning seductive foreplay, make its run of the mill sleazy sexism all right. Ben Kingsley is David Kapesh in Elegy, an aging divorced English Literature professor at Columbia University, who seems to have made his career choice based on all the worshipful young coeds he can charm into bed on a regular basis. Maggie Gyllenhaal has hit out at the media for their reporting tactics after the death of fellow actor HEATH LEDGER - branding the industry “disrespectful”.

The Secretary star blasted journalists for their style of reporting after the tragic death of the Australian actor, insisting she was “shocked” by the way they tackled the sensitive issue.

Maggie Gyllenhaal starred opposite Ledger in his final full film, The Dark Knight, in which he stars as Batman’s nemesis, The Joker.

And the actress - whose brother, Jake Gyllenhaal, featured alongside Ledger in 2005’s Brokeback Mountain - reveals her co-star and friend’s untimely death has taken its toll on her.

She tells Britain’s Empire magazine, “It’s hard to talk about how it’s (Ledger’s death) affected me personally. It’s been really hard for me.”

“(And) the media has shocked me with the way that they’ve been disrespectful in some ways.”

New parent Maggie Gyllenhaal’s maternal skills came in handy on the set of her new movie ‘Farlanders’ when she had to calm screaming baby twins.

The actress plays a hippie mum in the Sam Mendes film - her first project since becoming a mother in October 2006.

And when her tiny co-stars threatened to ruin filming by screaming through take after take, she decided to try to calm them.

Maggie Gyllenhaal explains: “I get to work with a five-year-old and two 11-month-old twins, who screamed through the entire day.

Kimberley Davies, 40, from Davis Way, pleaded guilty to six counts of managing brothels for prostitution in Reading, Bracknell, Basingstoke and Swindon and was sentenced to a year in prison.

An accomplice, Barbara Harvey, 62, from Old Whitely Wood Lane in Reading, pleaded guilty to a count of assisting in the management of a brothel in Basingstoke and was given a four month suspended prison sentence.

The two appeared at Reading Crown Court after being arrested during a series of raids in January.

Det Supt David Poole, who oversaw the operation, said: “If you are involved in criminality we will arrest you and seize your assets.
“The message is simple - crime does not pay.”
