Sometimes a girl just needs time for herself.  And yesterday, Nicole Richie left her boyfriend Joel Madden and daughter Harlow Winter behind for an afternoon with some gal pals.

The paparazzi caught up to the former Simple Life cutie enjoying a day of fun in the sun at a beach party in Malibu, California.  She wore a short white cleavage-baring dress overtop a pair of denim shorts with a pair of sunglasses.

The latest ‘celeb’ (what exactly is she famous for again?) to spark pregnancy rumours is Nicole Richie who may or may not be expecting her second child.

Nicole Richie fueled rumors by a. revealing she wanted a companion for daughter Harlow and b. wearing a flowing lilac ‘maternity-style’ top.

Nicole Richie – who already has a five-month-old daughter Harlow with partner Joel Madden – is said to be expecting her second child, after deciding she wanted a companion for her baby.
