Leelee Sobieski rose to fame in her mid-teens with her appearance in the movie Deep Impact (1998) and played a modern Lolita in Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut (released in 1999, although she was not even fifteen when her nymphet-like scenes were shot). She was playing alongside Tom Cruise: she recalls he was “very kind and considerate with me”, and says her most vivid recollection of Stanley Kubrick was that he “genuinely seemed to hold something magic”.

Jeri Ryan’s big break came when she won a regular role as an extraterrestrial investigator named Juliet Stuart on the TV show Dark Skies. The show was cancelled after one season, but the role had drawn the attention of the science-fiction community.

In 1997, Jeri Ryan was cast to play Seven of Nine, a Borg drone freed from the collective on the science fiction series Star Trek: Voyager. The role drew her instant fame and her tight-fitting uniform made her a sci-fi sex symbol. Seven of Nine quickly became the focal character of a large number of episodes. The character is also well known for her efficiency and humor. Ryan’s addition to the cast also coincided with higher ratings and positive critical reviews of Voyager.

Recently, Ellison took over a contract with lingerie giant Ultimo for its “Young Attitude” line from fellow model Jordan barely two months after she had been signed on. Though Ultimo boss Michelle More had chosen Jordan for being “sexy, fun and outgoing,” she later changed her mind, stating, “Jordan was just the wrong choice for [us]. For those who haven’t been keeping up with sub-teen culture, cute-as-a-button Jodie Foster was nominated for an Academy Award for her work in the title role of “Little Miss Sunshine,” and now, at age 12, is starring in the well-received new movie “Kit Kittredge: An American  Girl.”  The next few years could be difficult for her, though.  Child actors often have a tough time making the transition to adulthood. The Jodie Foster is the latest derivative of the Mini Cooper, which charmed enthusiasts with its retro styling and inspired performance when it was introduced in 2002. Besides becoming a huge success for its owner BMW, Mini has created a whole new segment for the U.S. market: the premium small car. More than 42,000 Minis were sold last year, more than Porsche, Saab or Jaguar.

It’s safe to say that Jodie Foster isn’t enjoying her new-found status as a paparazzi magnet.

The actress – who left long-time partner Cydney Bernard for another woman last month – hit out at shutterbugs after they attempted to photograph her sharing a car with a mystery female.

Foster threw her blue and white handbag in the face of a photographer as she tried to get into the car.
